Our COVID-19 Policies – The Capital New Normal
Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in South Africa, The Capital Hotels & Apartments has led the hospitality industry in providing a safe environment for guests whether it was for isolation, quarantine, essential services travel and repatriation. Having accommodated thousands of guests during this time The Capital has become the natural choice for safe stays.
All our staff have been trained to ensure your entire stay with us meets the high standards and safety protocols, aligned with the World Health Organisation (WHO) and Food Consulting Services (FCS). Our entire supply chain (including food) has been secured for safe living.
Sanitized Sanctuaries
Our apartment hotels have been converted into Sanitized Sanctuaries. A safe and protected environment throughout our hotels in all our rooms, apartments, public areas and back of house. It’s the perfect place to stay safely, self-isolate or quarantine with peace of mind.

Self-Isolation for COVID Positive Guests or Quarantine Stays
Quarantine with us (if you are COVID negative) or self-isolate with us if you or anyone in your household has tested positive, and has mild symptoms. We have rooms and apartments available for you/your family to rest and recover with strict protocols in place. Stay with us in our hotel rooms or one/two/three bedroom apartments.
Keep your household safe while you recover or quarantine. Medical personnel are not on site at these hotels, but can be called on your behalf should you need additional care or need to be moved to a hospital for specialized care.
Guests in isolation (for COVID positive stays) must agree to our T&C’s before checking-in and will be advised to stay inside their rooms at all times and not to make use of any public areas such as the restaurant, gym or pool etc. While you rest, housekeeping is unfortunately not available to ensure the safety of our staff.
All you need to know about travel to South Africa
We are ready to welcome you – our staff are fully trained and compliant.
All you need is a negative COVID test (valid within the last 72 hours of travel), your valid passport and necessary travel documentation (eg: Visa’s etc) and a lovely place to stay (that’s us!).
